AMP Health spins off as independent South African entity

In 2015, AMP Health was founded by the Aspen Global Innovators Group to continue its commitment to public sector leadership in health ministries in Africa.  It was established by a diverse set of stakeholders from the public and private sectors to build leadership and management capabilities in support of improved health systems and outcomes. In 2021, AMP Health, in close partnership with the Aspen Institute and the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), established a South African Section 21 non-profit company, AIGSA, to bring the focus of its operations close to the public sector teams they support across Africa. Over the intervening years, AMP Health has increasingly transferred its operations and hosting to AIGSA, and established independent governance structures for the company. As of July 2025, AMP Health was fully transferred from the Aspen Global Innovators Group to AIGSA in South Africa.
