Chinery is passionate about promoting women’s rights in African countries. In her role at AWDF, she works with women-led organizations to build their leadership and help them advocate for inclusive decision-making processes. Through this work, she has gained stories of successes and failures among grassroots organizations. Chinery began her career with Oxfam GB, where she worked in Northern Ghana on issues of food security, health and education. After this, she completed her MA in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods at the University of Reading, UK. Through her work at AWDF, Chinery believes African women are opening the door to the future both on the continent and globally. “Africa’s women’s movement shows the power of mobilization,” she says.
