Joi-Michelle Rhodes, LMSW, is a Black community-based therapist, advocating for transformational change in mental health treatment and suicide prevention. As a suicide attempt survivor and person living with mental illness, Joi educates on the necessity of elevating lived-experience as expertise, redefining knowledge, and redistributing power in mental health care system design. Joi is a firm believer that the knowledge and experiences of the people who are closest to an issue, are key to creating effective, appropriate, and sustainable solutions. Equipped with both clinical knowledge and first-hand experience, Joi boldly challenges stereotypes and stigma to pioneer transformational change in mental health care systems.
