Kaata Minah is an African feminist activist educator and 2024 Impact West Africa Fellow focused on achieving gender equality through transformative feminist education and community-led initiatives. As a movement organiser working to end violence against women and girls in Sierra Leone, Kaata has extensive experience in grant-making and accompaniment support grounded in feminist political education and has led policy advocacy initiatives.
Her work has included managing the design and implementation of participatory grant-making approaches, centring survivor leaders and feminist activists in shaping programming and decision-making processes to end violence against women and girls. Kaata is skilled in public-facing roles, including moderating panels and facilitating workshops.
Kaata’s commitment extends into academia, where she volunteers as a lecturer at the Institute for Gender Research and Documentation (INGRADOC) at the University of Sierra Leone (Fourah Bay College). Here, she integrates activism with academia, contributing to both the practical and intellectual dimensions of gender justice
