In honor of women’s leadership and global impact, we celebrated and commemorated innovators who are advancing critical solutions, particularly women leaders addressing issues in health, climate, education, and economics. We hoped to inspire conversation—and action—around advancing the leadership and well-being of women and girls globally.
Notable speakers, including Henrietta Fore, Co-Founder, Radiate Capital; Former Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development; Lola Adedokun, Executive Director of Aspen Global Innovators Group; Yasmin Madan, Director and US Lead for Philanthropic Collaboration, Co-Impact; Lauren Rumble Associate Director, Gender Equality, UNICEF; and Evana Oli Co-Founder and Mom-in-Chief, Beautiful Curly Me, shared their invaluable insights during the session. The panel discussion expertly moderated by Hala Hanna, Executive Director of MIT Solve.
Women play an incredible yet underrepresented role in shaping the global health innovation landscape. Despite pivotal contributions to transformative inventions and advancements, only 28% of the workforce in science and engineering in the United States are women, with a mere 17% receiving venture capital support. This Women’s History Month, the Aspen Global Innovators Group and MIT Solve brought you to celebrate and commemorate the work of women in innovation, highlighting female social entrepreneurs who are addressing critical issues in health, climate, education, and economics. Alongside applauding their achievements, we will champion ongoing efforts needed to foster an inclusive environment that empowers and supports the success of women in innovation.
